About Me

A developer who starts from the business problem.

I'm Ken Alarcos, a full stack developer working remotely from the Philippines. I build custom web-based business systems — HRIS platforms, payroll applications, employee performance tracking and attendance management — backed by structured databases and secure sign-in.

I also build Google Sheets automation for business operations: data management, inventory tracking, reporting dashboards, custom functions, automated triggers and data synchronization that remove repetitive manual entry.

My work spans the interface people click, the logic that computes and validates, the database that keeps records consistent, and the automation that keeps everything moving — so I can take a process from "we do this by hand" to a working tool.

Interfaces

Responsive pages and dashboards in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Backend logic

PHP application logic: computations, uploads, approvals and exports.

Data & access

MySQL database setup, queries and user authentication.

Automation

Google Sheets and Apps Script: custom functions, triggers, dashboards.

How I Work

Development approach

The principles behind the systems in my projects.

  1. 01

    Understand the process first

Map how the team works today — from attendance logs to payroll, or from sample request to shipment — before writing a line of code.

  2. 02

    One source of truth

Keep records in a database or a single structured workbook instead of scattered spreadsheets, so everyone works from the same data.

  3. 03

    Build for the daily user

Dashboards, filters, status labels and clear forms for the HR staff and operators who use the system every day.

  4. 04

    Automate the repetitive

CSV imports, computations, scheduled triggers and exports replace the steps people used to do by hand.

  5. 05

    Protect the data

Sign-in, role-based access and validation keep records accurate and visible only to the right people.
